Police in Punjab cease a terrorist attack on the Mianwali police station.
District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali claimed in a statement that the Makerwal police station in the Isakkhel district was attacked by 20 to 25 heavily armed insurgents.
The DPO stated that after exchanging heavy gunfire, the terrorists were forced to flee. The official stated that "a few terrorists also were also injured in the retaliatory firing by the police."
A four-person committee was established by Inspector General Police (IGP) of Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar to investigate the terrorist attack.
The Additional IG Training, DIG IT, and representatives from Special Branch and Operations make up the four-person team.
The committee and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sargodha will work together to plan search and combing operations against terrorists.
Additionally, he gave the order to begin search and rescue operations in nearby Makerwal police station.
The terrorist attack came a day after a powerful blast triggered by a suicide attack rocked a mosque in Peshawar’s Police Lines during the afternoon prayers.
